In the first blog we spoke about auditing your brand. Today we’re going over how to audit your bio. You know that thing that you wrote when you first made your account and never looked at again?

We’re going to fix that right now!

Why do an Instagram Bio Audit?

Your bio is your first chance to really sell to your audience. 

These are the things that your bio should really be achieving:

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ Use descriptive keywords for optimal SEO (search engine optimisation)

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ Drive website clicks

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ Convey your brand values and vibe - yes vibe is the technical term hehe ๐Ÿ˜

How to do a Bio Audit

 I put together this handy dandy little checklist for you to follow.

 

Add a call to action: This goes with the first one, if your audience had read your bio and they like what they see they need to know what the next steps are to get more info/work with you. Include a call to action in your bio or if you already have one, make sure it’s still relevant. This could be ‘dm me for more info’ or ‘click below to shop’.

Check your link is up to date: Does the link you have in your bio still reflect where you want the audience to go? You could even opt for a link tree that will allow you to link to multiple places if you need it.

Can the audience tell what you do quickly? This is probably the NUMBER ONE thing that your bio should achieve! Read your bio as if you had no prior information on what you do, would they be able to tell what your business is and how you can help them? If not, it’s time to simplify. Don’t be afraid to get a second opinion on this!

Add keywords to the name field: SEO plays a big part in how other accounts find you. One of the best ways to incorporate SEO into your Instagram account is by adding keywords to the name field in your bio.
